PERFORMANCE: George Eliot Trust reported a governance rating of amber-green due to a failure to hit the four-hour accident and emergency target.
Ninety per cent of patients waited four hours or less in March, against a target of 95 per cent.
In the first ten days of April the figure was worse at 85.8 per cent. The trust would otherwise have achieved a green rating.
Every other acute trust in the West Midlands failed the target in quarter four of 2012-13. At George Eliot the problem was compounded by an outbreak of norovirus, and “the acuity of patients admitted and not therefore being able to discharge at the rate required”, board papers said.
