PERFORMANCE: George Eliot Hospital missed out on a “green” Monitor governance rating after narrowly failing to meet its 62 day cancer referral target for the first quarter of 2011-12.
The trust, which carries out self-assessment based on Monitor targets, said that 83.3 per cent of cancer patients had waited no more than 62 days between referral to treatment over that period.
The target is 85 per cent. The trust’s compliance, finance and performance report said: “The difference represents two patients whose treatment was not completed within the standard.
“Although there was improvement in May following a low achievement in April, the standard was then not achieved in June,” it states.
The report said this prevented the trust achieving a green rating.
