STRUCTURE: A “Healthcare Operational Board” has been established at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.

In his statement to the trust’s November board meeting, chief executive Kevin McGee described the body as an “overarching forum”.

The HOB has been set up to “respond to significant pressures and issues going forward for the future services at GEH”, Mr McGee said.

It will be chaired by the chief executive, and membership will include executive leads, senior clinician and senior managers.

“Key clinicians/leads will be empowered and given autonomy to make/act on key decisions with clear lines of accountability enforced via the operational board, which will report and be accountable to the trust noard,” Mr McGee said.
