PERFORMANCE: George Eliot Hospital has reported an “outstanding turnaround” in it stroke performance.

Patients receiving appropriate care on a stroke ward was 100 per cent in August – “this represents an outstanding turnaround from the under performance seen in earlier months”, board papers said.

The trust also hit its emergency target, with 96.7 per cent of patients admitted or discharged within four hours, “in spite of the operational pressures faced”.

However unplanned reattendances were over target, as was the level of delayed transfers of care.

Cancer waiting times also fell behind target. “A higher than expected number of delays resulting from patient choice was experienced in this month,” the papers said.
