FINANCE: Great Western Hospitals Foundation Trust has identified a risk of non-payment for activity of £1.5m.

The finance report to November’s board said NHS clinical income was £3.2m above plan for the year to date.

Elective activity is over plan by 2 per cent, non-elective activity by 24 per cent compared to plan and 10 per cent on 2011-12 levels. GP referrals have increased by 7 per cent against plan and 2 per cent on 2011-12 levels.

The report said clinical income was forecast to be £6m above plan by the year end based on current activity levels.

It continued: “The breakdown of the £6m is NHS Swindon £4.5m and £1.5m relating to other commissioners, the risk to this £1.5m as NHS Swindon has offered £3m and the other PCTs are paying in line with contract.”
