PERFORMANCE: Recent board papers warn of a decrease in the response times of ambulances against the contracted target across Bury PCT.

The performance report shows that for November and December 8 minute Category A emergency response were just over 71 per cent against a target of 75 per cent.

According to the report in order to support improvement against the target, Bury CCG has developed an “North West Ambulance Service pathway into Crisis Response” which went live at the beginning of February.

The paper says: “The number of referrals and the number of patients going into the Crisis Response service via this pathway is being monitored to assess impact. BARDOC, Bury CCGs commissioned Out of Hours provider, has developed a pilot with NWAS to deflect patients from A&E into the OOH services. Bury ambulance service held a recruitment drive…to increase their workforce to staff another rapid response vehicle with the aim of increasing response times.

“We continue to monitor this target closely and work with NWAS to improve performance.”
