STRUCTURE: The primary care trust will miss the 31 March deadline to offload its provider services, after a deal with Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Community Healthcare Trust fell through.
An NHS North West board paper, published earlier this month, says that Stockport provider services were due to transfer to Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Community Healthcare Trust, but “negotiations could not deliver a viable business case”.
It continues: “Alternative arrangements are being negotiated, with initial discussions taking place between Stockport Managed Care (the GP consortium), Stockport PCT and Stockport Foundation Trust.
“The aim is to ensure that the transfer of Stockport’s provider services is no more than three months later than schedule. The Department of Health remains closely informed”, board papers add.
