Trafford £165,0000 behind plan by the end of May

Trafford recorded an under-spend of £107,000 to the end of May, against plans to have recorded a surplus of £272,000 to that point, according to the latest NHS North West finance report.

The PCT was one of three in the north west showing ‘material adverse variances against their plans’ at the end of the second month of the year, the report states, the others being Oldham and Ashton, Wigan and Leigh.

It adds: “Where PCTs are experiencing pressures and slippage on CIP schemes, escalation processes are in place to provide assurance that early action is being taken to bring positions back in line.

“All organisations reporting actual or forecast financial pressures will be required to submit action plans including milestones and responsible leads. These will be actively monitored and escalated where improvement cannot be demonstrated.”
