STRUCTURE: The trust has opened a new rehabilitation and recovery unit, as part of its strategy to redesign inpatient care pathways.
The Acacia Unit, on the trust’s Park House site at North Manchester General Hospital, is a 20-bed all male intensive rehabilitation unit that will allow the trust to “appropriately cater for the needs of service users who require specific support that is not offered in any of our acute inpatient ward environments,” it said in a statement.
The purpose of the unit was to “provide a recovery-orientated and multi-disciplinary approach in an environment where service users can build and regain confidence in their abilities to successfully make the transition from acute services to the community,” it added.
