PEFORMANCE: Symphony, the IT system used in Guy’s and St Thomas’ A&E, stopped sending follow-up letters to GPs, board papers reveal.
The July minutes said: “The medical director briefed the board on a problem that had arisen in Accident and Emergency from the Symphony system not automatically despatching letters to GPs. The system had been reactivated and was now sending these out.
“A clinical review of notes to see what action was required was under way. He was already able to confirm that safeguarding had not been compromised by this failure and the trust was working with commissioners to agree how this should be handled with GPs.”
The trust is investigating the incident.
