PERFORMANCE: The central London acute trust is working on a metric to measure the communications performance of district nurses and general practice.

The acute trust, which took on the running of Lambeth and Southwark primary care trusts’ provider arms in April, said it would “improve communication between District Nursing and Primary Care” by confirming the receipt of each GP referral and finding a way to measure “communication after initial assessment and at discharge”.

The workstream is part of the trust’s Quality Account process. It published its first QA in 2010, having been involved in the pilot the previous year.
