WORKFORCE: Amanda Pritchard, currently deputy chief executive at Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust, is leaving in the spring to join the south London giant.
A former leader of the health team in the prime minister’s delivery unit in 2006, Ms Pritchard joined Chelsea and Westminster in 2002.
Guy’s and St Thomas’ chief executive Ron Kerr said: “We look forward to welcoming Amanda to the team as her considerable skills and experience will ensure that we are able to strengthen our operational capacity at a crucially important time for the trust.
“The appointment reflects the breadth and scale of the management agenda which we face as an organisation. It will enable us to successfully deliver both exceptional operational performance, and to devote greater energy to the development of the Clinical Academic Groups that underpin our Academic Health Sciences Centre, King’s Health Partners.”
King’s Health Partners also includes the Maudsley and King’s College Hospital trusts, the head of strategy at the latter, Jacob West was also a director at the prime minister’s delivery unit, becoming lead advisor on health policy in 2007
The chief operating officer post is a new one for GSTT.
