STRUCTURE: The Isle of Wight NHS Trust legally came into being on 1 April, bringing the purchaser-provider split to the island for the first time.
Board papers for the Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, and Portsmouth primary care trust cluster said the new trust is “an integrated service provider of acute hospital, mental health, ambulance, community services and prison health care.”
In 2012-13, its revenue is expected to be £160m. It has a full time equivalent workforce of almost 2,900.
Cluster chief executive Debbie Fleming said: “Substantial work has been undertaken to get to NHS trust status and all those involved are to be congratulated on this significant milestone.”
