STRUCTURE: NHS Isle of Wight is to divest day to day operational commissioning activities and support to its primary care trust “cluster” through a local service level agreement.
The divestment will mean 100 whole time equivalent staff moving to the SHIP cluster, which comprises Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth PCTs.
The majority of the staff - 3,200 wte posts - will remain in the “stand alone” NHS Isle of Wight provider.
As the separation work progresses non-executive directors will be split into commissioner and providers.
