PERFORMANCE: All four primary care trusts in the Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth cluster missed their targets for C difficile infections.
May board papers said: “C difficile infection rates remain an area that warrants continued focus.
“At the end of the 2012 financial year the four PCTs did not meet their targets.
“This was down to infections in community settings not in acute settings and overall numbers have continued to reduce but further work needs to be done to tackle levels in the community.”
