PERFORMANCE: Southampton primary care trust is overperforming against plan on all its activity indicators, cluster board papers reveal.
In September the PCT was 17.9 per cent above plan for the number of written referrals from GPs, and 16.3 per cent over target on other referrals for first outpatient appointments.
The number of first outpatient attendances following a GP referral was 12.8 per cent more than planned. And, the number of all consultant led first outpatient attendances was 24 per cent over target.
The board papers said: “Remedial action plan is being implemented which includes: increase access to advice for GPs to avoid onward referrals; stronger usage of Map of Medicine”, and “regular reviews” with local acute trusts.
