FINANCE: The Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth primary care trust cluster had collectively identified £69.9m worth of cost savings, just under its target of £71.7m.

Savings attributed to the quality, innovation, productivity and prevention programme totalled £59.1m – better than planned.

The PCTs saved £3.6m in management cost savings - £244,000 under plan. 

However the cluster has fallen behind on prescribing savings – cutting £7.2m against a target of £8.8m.
