FINANCE: Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust was exepcting “difficult” contract negotiations for 2012-13 with its lead commissioner.
Minutes of the FT’s February board - the most recent available - say that, while the trust was expecting its contract with NHS North Yorkshire and York to be “marginally below” baseline spend for 2011-12, it was “higher than the PCT budget for the contract and had led to discussions with the PCT and CCG”.
The minutes states: “Activity had increased since November and this had put pressure on the contract. In addition, the run rate of activity meant that the starting point for 2012-13 was higher, which in turn was causing an affordability issue for the PCT.
“The board were informed that contract negotiations for 2012-13 would be difficult.”
