WORKFORCE: The chair and other non-executive directors at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have recommended their remuneration is frozen for the second year running, after comparing with other trusts.

Governors’ papers say: “The remuneration committee… confirmed that the non-executive directors had once again stated that they wished to be consistent, given the current financial climate, and receive no award for inflationary uplift purposes in 2011-12.”

They say: “Having taken in to account the comparative salary benchmark information and additional information, the recommendation of the remuneration committee is no cost of living pay uplift for the chairman and non-executive directors for 2011-12.

“In addition, the remuneration committee considered the chairman and non-executive directors’ basic salaries against the comparative pay information and determined that no uplift was necessary as the salaries remain above the median comparator data. The board of governors were unanimous in ratifying this decision.”

The chair and non-executives were “commended [for] their work and thanked them for their continued commitment and dedication to the trust”.
