STRUCTURE: NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees CCG is enshrining five clinical workstream groups in its constitution.
A board paper to the Tees PCT Cluster says a draft constitution has been developed.
It states: “Decision making will involve clear definitions around the role of member practices, feeding into locality groups, clinical councils and clinically led workstreams.”
The clinical “key workstreams” are: Out of Hospital Care (which includes urgent care and community services); In Hospital (acute service) care (which includes Momentum transformation, contracting and procurement arrangements); medicines management; Mental Health and Learning Disabilities including Dementia; and Quality in Primary Care (including demand management and patient and stakeholder engagement).
The CCG has identified “a series of cross cutting themes that each of these workstreams will address that include reducing health inequality, patient safety, patient experience, value for money and equality and diversity”. Each group will be led by a clinician.
