COMMERCIAL: NHS Herefordshire has set up a joint venture company with Wye Valley Trust and Herefordshire Council to provide support services.
In accordance with legal advice the council set up the JVCo, known as The Shared Services Company, and has gifted shares to the other orgnisations. According to a report to the primary care trust board a “formal trading name for the company that meets the aspirations of the partners and provides an appropriate branding is to be agreed”.
Initially the organisation will provide finance, ICT and human resources services with procurement set to transfer in October.
So far 315 council staff have undergone a TUPE transfer to the JVCo. Staff from NHS Herefordshire who work on the shared services will be transferred to the new organisation subject to agrreing pensions arrangements. Although any staff that move will be able to remain part of the local government pension scheme, NHS Herefordshire is waiting to hear whether staff can remain in the NHS pension scheme.
