FINANCE: NHS Herefordshire has been supporting Wye Valley Trust with its private finance intitiative payments and “without prejudice” payments for activity above plan.
Wye Valley Trust was formed on 1 April this year when community services transferred from the primary care trust to Hereford Hospitals Trust under transforming community services. The trust also provides social care services under an agreement with the local agreement.
A report to the NHS Herefordshire’s September board reveals the trust, which has a turnover of £165m, is forecasting an overperformance of £4.9m on the acute contract.
The report states: “NHSH have utilised fully the £3m set aside for transition support to partly offset the Wye Valley Trust forecast outturn position. Commissioning Finance leads are now validating the activity associated with this forecast in order to assess its robustness.”
