FINANCE:  The primary care trust is to have nearly £3m of strategic change reserve (SCR) returned by its strategic health authority.

Board reports for December a meeting has taken place between directors from the PCT, Hereford Hospitals and NHS West Midlands to discuss the return of SCR monies to Herefordshire.

The report said: “An agreement was reached subject to SHA board approval (now agreed) that the £2.8m SCR monies would be returned.

“Assurance by the health economy was required that the financial position across the whole health system would deliver a breakeven position at the end of the financial year. Assurance has been given and SCR monies have now been received by NHS Herefordshire.”

Half of the money, £1.4m, will be passed to Hereford Hospitals Trust.
