FINANCE: East and North Herts CCG is expecting to overspend on acute services by £12.5m by the end of the financial year – but is offsetting them by underspends elsewhere. A report to NHS Hertfordshire’s board showed significant underspends on areas such as re-enablement in the forecast outcome of £3.7m.
The CCG has agreed to offer nearly £5m to East and North Herts Trust in transformation funding.
Herts Valleys CCG is in a similar position with overspending on its key contract with West Herts Hospitals Trust and underspends in other areas. The rate of overspend with the trust has recently increased to around £1m a month and discussions around risk sharing have been started.
The CCG hopes to finish the year with a ‘better than breakeven’ position.
