STRUCTURE: Minutes presented to NHS London said there was a shortage of secondary care doctors “of appropriate calibre” to sit on clinical commissioning group boards.
Minutes presented to the January board of the SHA said: “[mediocal director] Andy Mitchell said there were difficulties in some CCGs with the appointment of suitable secondary care doctors of appropriate calibre.
“[Director of strategy] Hannah Farrar acknowledged this, but it remained a requirement. Interim arrangements would be put in place where necessary. Dame Ruth Carnall said most CCGs had plans for making substantive appointments, and were hopeful of doing so.”
