SERVICES: Patients at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital Foundation Trust will be able to ‘self check-in’ at a new £2.7m hospital entrance.

The entrance will include a new car park, entrance to the building itself and a reception area and conference facilities.

Patients will use kiosks to check themselves in using bar coded letters with assistance from help staff.

A brand new cafe, staffed by volunteers from the trust’s league of friends will also be available along with a shop, post office and mobility equipment supplier. The hospital restaurant has also been extended.

Chief executive, Wendy Farrington Chadd, said: “We are delighted that the fantastic new entrance is now ready to welcome patients. It will reassure patients that we recognise the need to help them find their way around more easily.

“The new high technology environment also provides a central area of support facilities, making it convenient to access refreshments. We have worked together with local contractors and local people on the new entrance and I am very pleased that this development has received significant support from the local community.”
