Chairman for the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College (New entry)
Lord Darzi of Denham, the impossibly suave surgeon and former health minister, may have left the DH in 2009, but his legacy is highly influential. He should be credited with being one of the few ministers who got policy makers to move from talking about process to talking about quality. His influence today is felt at two levels.
His work with the Institute for Global Health Innovation resonates at Number 10, which has made him a UK business ambassador. At Richmond House, although he may not be physically present in the corridors, the question “What would Darzi think?” is often posed.
