STRUCTURE:New emergency care departments have opened at Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Hospitals Trust.

The trust opened the new Children’s Emergency Department  and adult Emergency Care at Hull Royal Infirmary on 22 May.

Around £2.5 million has been invested in this phase of the hospital’s redevelopment, which has involved relocating adult Emergency Care services and the Children’s Emergency Department to new accommodation within the main HRI tower block.

The scheme has taken more than a year to complete, and the trust hopes it will enable it to better accommodate the 125,000 patients who receive emergency care at the hospital each year.
