STRUCTURE: Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is to invest over £8m to provide new windows and an external façade for its 160ft tower block on the Hull Royal Infirmary site.

According to the trust, the work will make the building structurally safer and improve its overall appearance.

Duncan Taylor, deputy director of infrastructure and development, said: “As well as the obvious improvement to the building’s exterior, the work which is underway will help to improve the tower block’s energy efficiency by about 55%.”
