FINANCE: Campaigners in Hull have announced their intention to march against Hull And East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust’s plans to make £99m efficiency savings by 2018.

Save Our NHS Hull and East Yorkshire predicted the savings would mean reductions in staff and beds. The group is planning a demonstration for later this month.

The trust’s chief financial officer John Barber said its financial planning anticipated it needed to save £24m in 2012-13, the same next year, and £99m in total by 2018.
