WORKFORCE: The west London hospital trust, one of the largest in the UK, is advertising for a permanent chief executive and applications must be submitted by January 27.

The move follows the replacement of Sir Richard Sykes as chair in December.

The £924m-turnover trust, which is predicting a year-end deficit, is planning on being authorised in 2015, a year later than the original deadline envisaged by the Department of Health.

It is not clear if interim chief execuitve Mark Davies will apply for the role. Appointed in May 2011, after the resignation of Professor Steven Smith, his contract could have run until May 2013.
