PERFORMANCE: Imperial Healthcare has set back its plans to become a foundation trust for at least a year after the Care Quality Commission rated it as ‘requires improvement’ during a December inspection.
The CQC said there were problems with the trust’s record on leadership and patient safety.
The trust is now focussing on addressing the problems highlighted in the CQC inspection report.
A further CQC inspection is expected within 12 months, at which point a rating of ‘good’ is needed to restart the FT application process, Imperial chief executive Dr Tracey Batten reported to the trust’s January board meeting.
