I take issue with the accuracy and comment made in your article on the DoH 'hit-list' of trusts that cannot survive under payment by results (news, page 5, 19 April).
Whipps Cross University Hospital trust has agreed a plan with NHS London which means the trust will meet its five year break-even duty and pay back the loan we have secured. This will be achieved without disruption to the trust's integrity.
The trust delivered a substantial savings plan in 2006-07 and will end the year with a lower deficit than planned. This is a tribute to the hard work and effort of staff..Your article is irresponsible at a time when it is imperative to continue to motivate our staff.
Dr Lucy Moore, chief executive, Whipps Cross University Hospital trust.
