COMMERCIAL: James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to spend £600,000 upgrading its pathology facilities.

The work will be carried out by ISG over 21 weeks in which the building will remain fully operational with office, laboratory and clinical staff decanting to completed areas of the building as each section is delivered.

An ISG statement said: “The scheme sees ISG reconfigure the ground floor accommodation to maximise the available space, avoiding the need to construct a new extension, upgrading the laboratory to the very latest clinical standards and specifications to further enhance service delivery.

“The three-phase project will involve a strip out of the ground floor with the installation of partitions to remodel the space along with new ceilings, floors and decoration throughout.

“A new internal plant room will be created and ISG will strip out and replace existing services, installing modern, efficient mechanical and electrical systems. The project includes a complete fit out of all areas including offices, laboratory and testing areas and patient consultation rooms.”
