WORKFORCE: Monitor wanted an interim chief executive in place earlier than proposed at James Paget University Hospitals Foundation Trust, it has been revealed.
Former chief executive David Hill - who has been working in Bermuda - is due to take up the interim role in mid April.
But the minutes of an extraordinary governors’ meeting held in private in February show that Monitor had wanted someone in place sooner but had been unable to source anyone and thought the geographical position was a barrier to this. Monitor had no objection to Mr Hill.
Current chief executive Wendy Slaney gave six months notice of her intention to leave in December.
