WORKFORCE: Nursing director Carole Crocker is the latest senior manager to leave the troubled James Paget University Hospitals Foundation Trust in Great Yarmouth.
The trust told HSJ Ms Crocker had left the organisation “by mutual agreement” to undertake some work for the strategic health authority, NHS Midlands and East.
An interim nursing director has been appointed. Tina Cookson, currently an associate nurse director at NHS Midlands and East, will take up the role on 30 April.
The move is the latest in a series of changes at board level following the resignation of both the trust’s chief executive and chairman in the wake of concerns over the quality of care.
The trust has had a series of adverse reports from the Care Quality Commission and was recently issued with another formal warning notice following an inspection last month.
Recently-appointed interim chief executive David Hill has vowed to drive forward the necessary improvements. He welcomed the appointment of Ms Cookson.
“Her experience and leadership skills will be great assets to the hospital as the hard work to improve the quality of patient care continues to progress,” he said.
The trust is shortly expected to announce the appointment of a permanent chairman to replace interim chairman Peter Franzen.
