A central London PCT has missed its breast cancer screening targets for months seven and eight of the financial year.

The trust said it was “carrying out targeted work with the 14 practices who are currently in the screening round” and working with its provider to improve attendance rates.

The measure was one of five national priorities that went unmet.

It had also missed targets for chlamydia and cervical cancer screeening, childhood immunisations and the number of drug users in effective treatment for both months.
