PERFORMANCE: Kettering General Hospitals Trust failed to meet key performance targets in its accident and emergency department in the last quarter, recent board papers reveal.

Minutes from the trust’s performance, finance and resources committee show that A&E targets could not be achieved because of a “run of pressure”.

Acting chief executive Mark Smeeton warned that once the trust had reported its performance to foundation trust regulator Monitor it would be placed on an amber/green rating.

“If the trust failed in another quarter for the remainder of the year it could be escalated straight to ‘red’ on the compliance,” he added.
