Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust has announced the appointment of a new chair and non-executive directors.

The news came one week after chief executive Lorene Read announced she was resigning following the problems the East Midlands trust experienced in its emergency department performance last winter.

Graham Foster replaces Steve Hone as chair at the trust, as Mr Hone and two other non-executive directors reached the end of their terms.

Mr Hone has been in post for seven years.

Four new non-executive directors were appointed at the start of this week.

Kettering’s acting chief executive Clare Culpin said: “The team at KGH are delighted that we were able to attract such strong candidates to act as chair and non-executive directors on our board. They will provide us with invaluable experience and insights that will help us to successfully meet the challenges before us for the benefit of local people.”
