FINANCE: A major London hospital is to stop providing outpatient clinics at a community hospital in Kent in a cost cutting move.
King’s College Hospital Foundation Trust is to relocate nine clinics from Sevenoaks Hospital to its own premises at Orpington Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital in Farnborough. It said the move would allow it “to deliver the same high quality care by the same clinical teams but at a reduced cost for the trust”.
The first clinics will move by the end of March, and the relocation will be complete by the end of September.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust also runs a number of outpatient clinics at Sevenoaks Hospital and says it is looking to use some of the space vacated by King’s.
