PERFORMANCE: King’s College Hospital plans to spend £3.5m expanding its maternity provision.
The south London acute trust has experienced problems with the capacity of its maternity service and earlier this year had to ban women from out of its area from giving birth there.
A trust strategy document submitted to Monitor said it planned to spend £1m this year and a further £2.5m in 2012-13 improving provision.
The money would include redevelopment of the neo-natal intensive care unit.
