STRUCTURE: King’s Health Partners, the south London Academic Health Science Centre, has said it was exploring “partnership models with St George’s”.
KHP is one of three AHSC’s in London and five nationally that work to translate advances in research into service improvements.
A report to the board of King’s College Hospital Foundation Trust’s board said: “The KHP Strategy team is engaged in two important initiatives at present.
“Firstly, the development of plans for an Academic Health Sciences Network, designed to strengthen our relationships with other healthcare providers and academic institutions across South London. Intrinsic to this work is the exploration of partnership models with St George’s.”
At the moment KHP comprises King’s College London university, King’s College Healthcare Foundation Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’s Foundation Trust and South London and Maudsley Mental Health Foundation Trust.
