The chairman of the NHS Confederation, Keith Pearson, has been knighted for services to the NHS in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Sir Keith was appointed chairman in May 2010. He was previously chair of NHS East of England, a position he had held since 2006.

He has worked in the NHS since 1998 and was chair of the former Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Strategic Health Authority before his time at NHS East of England.

Sir Keith said: “I am surprised and deeply honoured to receive a knighthood for services to the NHS.

“I have worked with some incredible colleagues during my time as a chairman in the NHS - firstly in Somerset and more recently as chairman of NHS East of England - and those colleagues have been a big part of what I have been able to achieve for the public we serve.”
