WORKFORCE: The rate of violent incidents against staff at the foundation rose in June to its highest level since October 2010, according to its August board papers.
“Since February  there has been an overall increase in the number of violent incidents against staff,” its performance report states.
“June’s figure is the highest rate since October 2010, although the number of incidents are relatively stable around the average rate of 62 incidents per 1,000 staff,” it adds.
Nationally collated figures reproduced in the report show that between 2007-08 and 2009-10 the rate of violent incidents against staff at Lancashire Care fell from 156.9 to 79.8 per 1,000 staff. National figures for 2010-11 are expected in November this year.
