[UPDATED] PERFORMANCE: Emergency services at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals FT hit the four hour A&E waiting time target in June, board papers show.
According to board papers, 95.6 per cent of patients were seen within the target across the trust. However, they add: “As a result of significant peaks in attendances at the Royal Preston Hospital site the target was not met [at that particular hospital] in June, with overall performance for the month at 94.72 per cent.”
The trust failed to meet targets on the total time spent in A&E by patients who were later admitted to hospital and for those who were not admitted.
However the report stressed the trust is “performing significantly better than the latest reported national averages” on five of the key performance indicators for emergency departments.
