WORKFORCE: NHS Leeds chief executive John Lawlor has additionally taken on the role of director of provider development for strategic health authority NHS Yorkshire and the Humber.

The primary care trust’s chief executive latest report said Mr Lawlor would take on the SHA role on “a part-time basis… in addition to my role as chief executive and accountable officer of NHS Leeds”.

The board papers states: “My primary role at the SHA is to assist the seven remaining aspiring NHS foundation trust organisations across Yorkshire and the Humber to achieve the necessary standards to put forward applications to Monitor that are likely to be successful by 1 April 2014 at the latest.”

Mr Lawlor has previously worked for the Department of Health and was chief executive of Harrogate and District Foundation Trust for three years.

He was also seconded to the DH to work on the reponse to the swine flu pandemic before joining NHS Leeds last year.
