A GP surgery in Leicestershire could be closed following a doctor’s retirement in March next year.

Patients in the Coleorton and Belton areas of Leicestershire are being consulted after Dr John Jolleys is set to retire in 2013.

The branch surgery in Coleorton is in the grounds of his home, and he has notified the GP partnership that the surgery premises will no longer be available following his retirement.

The Manor House Surgery practice is working with NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland Primary Care Trust which has approved a formal patient consultation on the closure.

The results will help the PCT decide if it will approve the branch closure.

The PCT has said if the closure is approved it would be on the condition that the practice improves patient access and availability in the Belton surgery.
