WORKFORCE: Leicestershire Partnership Trust is tackling staffing issues highlighted in a critical coroner’s report into the suicide of a patient who absconded.

The “rule 43” from the coroner following the inquest last year concerned how the trust responded when extra staff were needed on wards.

The trust is implementing an action plan which includes using bank staff while additional staff are recruited.

So far 23 more healthcare support workers have started at the trust and another 12 are to come.
