STRUCTURE: Leicester Partnership Trust and West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group are to relocate community nursing and musculoskeletal services from Ashby and District Hospital to a leisure centre.
The trust wants to create a “pathway from rehabilitation into ongoing physical activity in a one stop health and fitness environment”.
Commissioners, nurses and other health professionals have hosted two events to explain to local residents why the services are moving to Hood Park Leisure Centre.
The move is part of a plan to transfer all outpatient and clinical services out of Ashby and District Hospital. Renovations at the centre to accommodate the new services are scheduled to be complete by the autumn.
