PERFORMANCE: Lewisham and Greewnich Trust puts the fall in year-on-year A&E performance down to a carehome closure making discharges harder and an increase in blue-light attendances.

The trust said while London Ambulance Service Trust handovers at the organisation’s two sites were quicker than month one on 2015, overall performance was down.

It said blue-light attendance at its Queen Elizabeth Hospital site was up 7.8 per cent.

A report to the board said a ”reduction in 100 placement beds [was caused by] the closure of a nursing home in the middle of 2015-16.”
